The Madonna, Reviled series uses traditional feminine imagery to explore the inner-lives of modern women. Halos represent the the things women hold close. They are safe in these personal womblike worlds that they foster. These women are not content with outside expectations: caught in moments when they feel most unseen by the world, they see their individual power more clearly.
