Although I moved quickly from project to project, my role was usually very research heavy: creating research guides, conducting remote interviews, synthesizing and presenting findings.
Insights and findings were turned into user stories for client review, and passed along to developers to give them a map on which back-end systems to prioritize.
To keep the feeling of personal stories, I illustrated my research findings for our client presentation. Overall, I wanted Sysco to see their customers as creative entrepreneurs who want a simple menu service to help them highlight what they do.
One of the most exciting aspects of research for me is the ability to tell human stories. I used this doodle to help myself break down the existing service (in black) and highlight areas for improvement (in green).
By translating my doodles into a Flow Diagram, we were able to highlight potential changes to the customer. This flow was later used as a scaffold for wireframes.
After running out of space on my small whiteboard, I'd have to get creative. The major benefit of using countertops as whiteboards is that I took excellent documentation so that I could clean them off and cook dinner.
This image shows me starting to move into wireframes.
